Mt Bisoke Hiking

Gorilla Solution Lodge guides to hike the iconic Mt Bisoke located in the borders of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. A 1 Day mount hike hike takes you to the summit of this dormant Mt Bisoke whose slopes shelter the endangered mountain gorillas. Mt Bisoke is one of the 8 Virunga Volcanoes and it last erupted in 1975. In the early morning of Mt Bisoke hiking, the driver guide from Gorilla Solution Lodge transfer you to Kinigi Park head quarters of Volcanoes National Park. You then attend a briefing on the safety precautions of hiking Mt Bisoke and then embark on a hike to conquer the volcano. The hiking time to the summit of the Volcano is roughly 6 hours. Enjoy the scenic views at the summit, take pictures and enjoy this lifetime experience. In the evening, hike down, meet your driver guide and transfer back to Gorilla Solution Lodge.

    Mountain gorilla trekking

    While staying at Gorilla Solution Lodge, you can easily do mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes park Park. The lodge is located a short distance from Kinigi Park head quarters where gorilla trekking briefing and registration takes place. Volcanoes National Park is home to the highest population of mountain gorillas in the Virunga Conservation Area hence a premier gorilla safari destination in Africa. Rwanda Development Board has habituated 10 gorilla families in Volcanoes National Park for trekking. Each gorilla group is visited by 8 people hence 80 gorilla permits available everyday. Each gorilla permit in Rwanda costs $1500 issued on first come first serve basis. Gorilla permit bookings in Rwanda can be done directly with Rwanda Development Board or indirectly through any trusted travel operator in Rwanda.
    The available time allowed with the endangered gorillas is strictly an hour counted from the moment travelers set their eyes on the gorillas. However, you can spend several more hours in the jungle before meeting the gorillas. The other destinations to see gorillas in Africa are Virunga National Park in Congo, Mgahinga and Bwindi imepnetrable Forest National park in Uganda.
